England defeat in First test match against Australia:
In the very first Test match
of the Ashes series, the England team suffered a crushing defeat and the
England team suffered a 9-wicket defeat at the hands of Australia at the Gabba
Stadium in Brisbane. But the captain of the England team, despite the defeat,
defended the players of his team and his team selection. Joe Root's decision to
bat first after the team's defeat and the decision to drop two experienced fast
bowlers in the team selection also did not seem to bother. He simply said that
decorating the players in the field in a more defensive way could have helped
left-arm spinner Jack Leach against an aggressive batting line-up.

Joe Root himself admitted
that doing so would have given Leach a slight boost in confidence for the
series. And for this he considers himself responsible. This made it very
difficult for him and the responsibility was probably on his shoulders rather
than the selection. Leach's place in the starting XI was confirmed at the time
of the toss, and the England team did not include fast bowler Stuart Broad, a
decision that did not help the England team, who lost a wicket on the very
first ball of the series. The England team was reduced to just 147 runs, after
the day's play was over due to heavy rain.
Joe Root said, 'His team has
to be adventurous. When he looks back, he thinks that his decision to bat was
right. Joe Root said,
Some changes could have been made in terms of
team selection but the team members wanted variation in the attack and the way
things were changed.
In the entire test match,
Ollie Robinson, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes tried to get the England team back
in the match, but the England team did not field well and due to missing some
catches, the England team had to face disappointment. Fell. England team
all-rounder Ben Stokes looked troubled by injury. Some decisions were also
surprising from the side of the Australian team. However, this decision was
confirmed after James Anderson was rested for the opening match of the series.
